Qualspec's work shall be carried out in a professional, objective and impartial manner. Inappropriate behaviour is not allowed and Qualspec has zero tolerance for corruption.

Qualspec's work shall be carried out honestly, with no influence tolerated in respect to any deviation from either approved methods and procedures or the accurate reporting of results. Data, assessment results, test results and other material facts shall be reported by Qualspec employees in good faith and will not be improperly altered. Please note the following examples:

  • To downgrade a major problem to a minor or to alter a report because of the influence of the factory/supplier/retailer is prohibited.
  • All reports and certificates issued by Qualspec shall correctly present the actual findings, professional opinions or results obtained.
  • At no time will the inspector allow a substitute inspector to do an inspection. If the assigned inspector is unable to carry out the inspection they must ring the Qualspec office and inform the manager that they are unable to carry out the inspection. To allow another inspector to do an inspection without informing Qualspec will be met with termination of employment.
  • The employee must not ask the factory to help in any way with your inspection apart from packing and unpacking if needed.
  • Any mistake incurred during testing or assessments must be ruled out with a single line and initialed by the technician / assessor, with the correct result written beside.

An employee of Qualspec is a professional in quality assurance and is required to act in a professional manner. The employee must be professional in not only their dress code and manner but also in the way reports are handled. Qualspec employees must, at all times have their Qualspec identity badges plus have readily available this Code of Conduct for viewing.

Qualspec shall treat all information received in the course of the provision of its services as commercial-to-confidence to the extent that such information is not already published, or made generally available to third parties or otherwise in the public domain. It is Qualspec's responsibility to protect our clients and their factory's information including details of the factory and shipment. For example, you should not discuss Client/Factory A's information with Client/Factory B.

The following conduct is considered to be an act of corruption and will not be tolerated:

  • To accept an offer or reward of cheaper goods, gifts, money or shopping vouchers.
  • To accept an offer or reward of entertainment.
  • To accept an offer or reward of free accommodation while still applying for an hotel allowance.
  • To have a business relationship with an agent, supplier or factory for a personal reason.
  • To leak confidential information of one supplier to another.
  • To claim unnecessary allowance from Qualspec.
  • If you are offered a bribe you must report it to your superior immediately. Please check your briefcase before leaving the factory and remove any item not belonging to you.

Any employee engaging in work-related criminal activity will be dismissed and may be reported to the appropriate authorities.

"Acting under instructions" will not be an acceptable defense for misconduct or unlawful behavior.

All work shall be performed in compliance with applicable laws and Company Policies. No employee is authorised whether intentionally or by disregard of procedure, to violate any legal, environmental, health, or safety requirement.

All employees are required to inform management of any condition that creates a danger to the environment, poses health and safety hazards, or may be a violation of law or ethical conduct. The company provides facilities to enable confidential reporting of such conditions.

While the company is Customer Focused in providing its service, it will not tolerate any breach of Ethics, Law, or Company Policy in order to satisfy customer requirements, whether stated or implied. Any attempt to subvert this policy is to be reported to management either through normal channels or by confidential means.

There is no discrimination in hiring, compensation, access to training, promotion, termination or retirement based on race, caste, national origin, religion, age, disability, gender, marital status, sexual orientation, union membership or political affiliation.

Physical abuse or discipline, the threat of physical abuse, sexual or other harassment and verbal abuse or other forms of intimidation shall be prohibited.

Any infraction of the above mentioned policies will result in disciplinary action being taken against the employee, up to and including dismissal.
